a touch of zen and tao!
yay's i'm back! tiring as it may seem...xianz but yep it sure hsa been a fun week! basically yar, i'm just really happy and thankful for what i have!
i think it's good that you have reality checks in some point of your life. hahax now i'm sounding a little philosophical but naah, it's just, when you reach a certain point of your life, you need to know where you stand and how you view your life as. i guess i'm pretty happy with mine actually! even tho i'm undergoing pretty tough training, but i've some good friends inside going thru the same rubbish with me too! so it's not so bad...hahax and my parents are always supporting and encouraging me, like they always do. and not forgetting all the friends around me, constantly blessing me with love...ahhh i'm so lucky! sheets i sound a lil paranoid ain't i? but yep happily paranoid!
okie hmmm shall go into the highlight of this week...actually it's just a family dinner hahax. but what's so special is that it's at a restaurant called "Tao's Restaurant" at paradiz centre. many might not have heard of it so yar, just here to spread the word.
actually i chanced on it while reading some gourmet mag, and they were saying a 8 course dinner at $29.90++ so it sounded quite ex, but from the illustrations it looked rather good, so yep why not take this chance to try it out (while i still can hahax)...so we went there, expecting food that was just okie but with good presentation and when we entered there was this warm welcome by the workers and we were served a raspberry sorbet immediately!

apparently all they have in there were the set lunch and set dinner. what varied was the main course, the soup, the salad, the drinks and the desert. so ya, the manager explained the menu to us and also recommended us certain dishes, like the pork ribs, double-boiled fish soup and creme brulee...and he really took the time to introduce every single dish to the last detail! so yar in a sense the menu was pretty small, but everything sounded pretty good so den the starter came.
actually i'm nt too sure what this is, but it taste really good! it's eggs + bacon + some meat on a hot plate and served together with toasted bread! and it really tastes so good together, i wanna have it every breakfast lar! and that was onli the starter!
the intricate design and combination of meat and summer vegetables went really well hand in hand! not forgetting the difference in plates to bring out the visual impact of each dish!
next came the sautered mushrooms, a variety of wild mushrooms together fried with vegetable oil and served with some barbecue sauce...the design was enough to make us happy and it tasted really good too!
then came the soup...basically we each ordered one and all of them were heavenly! especially the fish soup which had the taste of miso but without visible miso! and guess what? it came in a teapot!

next up was the main course...and that's my steak! yep it's really big and the tenderness and flavor is just there...the colourful vegetables make a stark contrast with the dark background, a perfect representation of ying and yang!
woah after such a strong main course, they toned down the atmosphere a little with their fruity blends of tea! here shown is the ice grapefruit tea and ice peach wildberry tea...it is known that teas do reduce the strong flavors of meat and are also great for health and relaxation! what a nice transition between two contrasting intensities of food!
and lastly, how better to end it off than with a fulfilling dessert? yep tt's right, it's Crème Br?lée, a french dish that means burnt cream. the top is crispy due to baking and the bottom is like tofu, soft and having the right amout of sweetness!
to sum it all up, the great service (o the manager gave me a 10% discount voucher at the end for next time use!) and the great food, complimented by the soothing background music and also the meticulous chefs with their inventive ideas, the dinner was totally a pleasure for many senses! aren't you just jealous...hahax kiddin lar, next time if you wanna go yep just gimme a call kays? till next time, "we don't eat to live, we live to eat!"
