mayday in june - coming soon!
hi all! as promised...i'm finally blogging today after a long work break...it's just that stuff have been really hectic so far that i lost the feeling to blog. *sighs* sorry about that again!
anyway how have you been? just hope everyone's been fine. it's just that there are many events that have happened around me that i'm just slightly worried, especially when things happen so suddenly and abruptly, it catches you off guard and makes you wonder how you should feel, what you should do and so on. nonetheless it definitely has been a challenging yet enriching month...i feel like despite all the sudden challenges that i face (especially on mondays...i dunno why but the start of the week is always screwed up), i've become slightly stronger in facing adversity, even though i've broken down once or twice before but i still managed to get up on my feet again (phew!).
let's see, last week, i finally got involved into NDP! yays...it was actually just one of those chill out icebreaker sessions that we have for usher leaders, and reminds me a lot about JC life orientation and stuff like that. at the start some of the guys (or specifically ONE of them out of 3 of us) was quite apprehensive of it, but in the end he seemed to enjoy it quite a bit! haha dunno lar, like drawing with blindfolds on and trying to form a pic, name guessing, whacko, and other lame yet fun games really brought me back into the mood. it reminded me of what i felt when i went to maldives, how willing people were to participate and give it their all, and having all of us going for a common goal. it showed the enthusiasm and spirit that was lost in me for some time after i got dragged down by work, and definitely a refreshing start for NDP. after that we even had dinner together, about 18 of us, all from different schools, different ages and different backgrounds, but just sitting down and having a fun time together. thank you for reviving some of that spirit in me again! i'm looking forward to working with you guys again, and maybe forming some interesting friendships too!
looking at it, NDP is really just around the corner. it's like a little more than 2 months? however, the challenging new area and the new plan, makes it so much harder to conduct one without any hiccups. that doesn't mean we're not trying our best to make it happen! definitely this year's gonna be hard, but we'll try our best to make it a success! fun new elements have been added, and i can't reveal anything, but it'll definitely be a blast! and being involved in NDP for this new venue is definitely a milestone in any NSF's life, and certainly be an experience that we will never forget!
in the midst of the work again, i feel like i've neglected people along the way...sms-es i've not replied, not keeping in touch, and i do feel like i've stretched a number of human relations. friends, family, and maybe even workmates. however, there are a couple of people i want to thank for helping me along the way...let me quote one example. two days ago i had a hell of a hectic day. it's like people firing arrows from different directions and expecting me to give them an answer. trust me, in work, arrows are constantly flying, it's just how you can siam them. whether they miss you or you break them, or you get shot once out of many times, there's always this limit of arrows you can take. but anyway, one of my buddies just came by me and helped me without regard for himself, asking his guys to help me with certain issues. at that point of time i was really happy and touched, not because my work was reduced, but that someone was willing to help me in the midst of all the confusion, even though he had things to do as well. i know these things happen many times, but it is at these critical points when you almost cannot take it anymore, and when someone lends a helping hand, a big one, it just makes you realise there'll always be people that not just watch your back, but also care. so thank you again...i don't think you'll read this, but if you do, please let me know! i thank you so much again.
o yar before i forget, welcome back sixun and esther! haha no worries we'll try our best to organise a class outing this time round! finally we do have most of us back from wherever we were...i'm remembering all the fun times we had together, our first class outing flying kites, seoul garden meetings and sentosa sun tans...feels really good doesn't it? all our canteen breaks and...i dunno i just miss the class so much! nonetheless i just feel a sense of nostalgia when i go to the beach nowadays. haha it's weird, but yep...hope we can really meet soon!
on the maldives side, night safari was pretty fun! we (mi zhimin ruth christine) were just walking through the jungles of the dark and looking at nocturnal animals, and realise sometimes an exhibit basically means putting a glass panel there and a picture of the animal beside it. quite a good tactic eh? but definitely we saw so many interesting things over there. there was this view of the seletar reservoir beside the giraffe/zebra exhibit, and the reflection of the water and the greenery around was just breathtaking. it was like you've been absobed into a postcard where the reflection is perfect. where the atmosphere is calm and serene. where time stops moving...it's a good feeling of peace in your heart that speaks "hush now, it's time to relax!" other than that, besides seeing some wildcat humping another without knowing (or maybe they knew 15 ppl including children were watching) that people were watching it, a close encouter with bats that only eat jackfruits and having paper like wings, otters singing their own song with squeals, it was a generally exciting yet educational outing! just hope it could be slightly cheaper next time, maybe k box? haha...
my bar's getting on well, with new acquisitions. Crown Royal Whisky, Johnnie Walker Black Label, Moet and Chardon Imperial Special Reserve Champagne, Cockburns Special Reserve Port and more...i can see my bar finally forming up! also i feel that more people are getting interestd into learning about cocktails and wine, so that's a refreshing start! it's again not for the alcohol, it's for the taste, the ettiqute, and also a form of art!
also, i've gotten an interest into anime recently! haha i know, it's kinda childish, but it's really nice tho! i think it's the storyline, but i'm watching stuff more on the love/friendship/fantasy side for now...old animes like Cardcaptor Sakura, Tsubasa Chronicles, Full Moon wo Sagashite, and Bleach (still watching...) but i'm planning to change genre soon. People might ask me what's so nice about it, it's just a different way of expressing their feelings, a different insight and also, japanese is a nice language! planning to take it as a third language...anyway, shall get back to work now, till next time, take care!
